Teach English in Dawusu Zhen - Daxing'anling Diqu
In this unit, I learned that while it can be argued that there are only two tenses (past and present), in reality it's more helpful to think of English as having 12 tenses. The present tenses include present simple, present perfect, present continuous and present perfect continuous. I learned that each grammar point has its own form and usages. There are some predictable errors that learners tend to make, and there are also a range of activities that can be used to activate each grammar point. Present perfect tense is a particularly difficult one for learners to use, as while it is commonly used in English, it does not exist at all in many other languages.
