There are in total twelve tenses in the English Language. This unit is about the Present Tense in the English Language. The Present Tense has four categories; which are the Present Simple, Present Continuous,Present Perfect and Present Perfect Continues. With these categories each has it unique formation. We have the affirmative,negative and the question forms. We also discussed about the usages of the various tenses. Also we discussed about typical students errors and how to correct them. We also had a look at the activate stage teaching ideas which will encourage communicative use of the tense. I have gained more insight of the activate method of teaching.
