This unit discovered the theories, methodologies and techniques of teaching English as a foreign language discussing the ESA approach as the most effective methodology for new teachers in details. This chapter was an excellent blend of theory and practical knowledge. Learning about the three main components of ESA (Engage, Study and Learn) definitely gave the core of the material. As a new teacher, I found the ideas given for each phase very helpful and inspiring; they encouraged me to think of new ways of keeping my kindergarten level classes stimulating and exciting considering the students? very limited (often non-existent) ability to read and write.
