The unit reviewed and distinguished between the Present Tenses which comprise: 1 Present Simple, 2 Present Continuous, 3 Present Perfect and 4 Present Perfect Continuous. The Simple Present is used to express habits, routines and general truths; the Present Continuous for talking about an action happening now; the Present Perfect to express a past event that has present consequences; and the Present Perfect Continuous to show that something that started in the past has continued up until now. The forms and usages of each tense (whether affirmative, negative or as a question) were outlined with examples as well as examples of common mistakes made by students.
