In this lesson I saw an example of an effective and an ineffective lesson. The teacher in the second lesson took time to build rapport with the students. He explained the concepts adequately and gave sufficient examples. He also used mimes and gestures to explain concepts. The teacher involved the students in the second lesson and encouraged them to interact. He turned his back to the students to write on the board minimally. Lastly, he gave positive feedback. In the first lesson, the teacher did not build rapport. He interacted with the whiteboard more than he did with the students and he did not adequately encourage the students to use the language.
