In this unit we learn about the importance of a lesson plan. We use lesson plans to give structure to a lesson and set goals that we want to achieve at the end. It gives us something to refer to during the lesson; it shouldn?t keep you from being flexible and respond to student needs. Lesson plans can also act as a record of what has been done in class. We want to keep the lessons simple, not scripted and keep it flexible and open to change while still anticipating the time for each activity. Before we can start a lesson; we check that the equipment works, arrange the seating as we see fit and run through our lesson plan making sure we have everything that is needed. A lesson plan should contain: learner objectives, procedures, a language point, phases, interactions and timing.
