This study unit was very insightful into the actual teaching of a class. It begins to introduce what it will really be like, i.e. what it entails, to plan and carry out a lesson. This unit involved looking at what a lesson plan is and how it is helpful to a teacher, and then covered examples of lesson plans for each type of ESA lesson, be it straight arrow, patchwork, or boomerang.A weak \"engage\" activity can sink an entire lesson. If I'm able to arouse/excite most of the class early in the lesson with a strong engage component, everything else will be considerably easier. Making a connection from the beginning is priceless. Task-based learning is very appealing to me because it's based on tangible exercises that make is easier to gauge students' progress.
