I enjoyed this unit and found it helpful in the sense that it is okay to make use of your own creativity to help your students. A course book can only give you so much, and it can restrict a learner and a teacher. I enjoyed going through the examples in the unit of activities to get ideas for a lesson. I am also getting more comfortable with the study phase of the ESA lesson plan.The two receptive skills are Reading and listening. An example of reading or listening for a purpose is looking at the stock market reports to see how your shares are performing. An example of using predictive skills is looking through the horoscopes to find your star sign to predict your future. An example of using scanning skills would involve lightly reading through an article.
