This unit is important because it lays out how to teach students to be receptive based on what they read and listen to. This is useful because students can then extract information based on something they will read or listen to, whether it be a newspaper article or a news report. This will help the student grasp the nuances of the language as it shows how to extrapolate information.The unit consisted of two videos, the first depicting a teacher who had a poor attitude and whose lesson confused the students while the second showed a teacher who had a positive attitude and whose lesson successfully taught the students about auxiliary modal verbs in a fun way. I found the videos very helpful as it clearly demonstrated how to and how not to give a successful lesson.
