Modal verbs have many functions and express different meanings. They are used for polite requests, degrees of certainty, permissions, obligations, abilities, advice. Modal verbs don't change their forms according to a person, the grammar form is easy, but the appropriacy of usage is complex. A teacher can ue role plays and other communicative exercises to practise the usage of modal verbs.Reported speech is something that is entirely new to me, therefore I found it quite difficult. This is going to be one of those units that I will have to review a few more times in order to understand more completely. This unit provided great examples of conditionals, as well as reported speech. I learnt a great deal from this unit however, in that there are multiple types of conditionals.
