In this unit i have learned how a teacher should behave towards students, but also how i as a teacher am supposed to feel while doing the job. For example: i need to be able to help out the students without offending them or affecting their motivation, but i also need to love teaching and have good subject knowledge. The roles of a teacher were very interesting to me, it made me realise that there are a lot of different kinds of teachers around. I honestly did not realise there were so many roles. The most important ones to me are: organizer, assessor, model, prompter and manager. When it comes to the subject 'learners' or the students, i enjoy reading and experiencing the difference between adult and young learners. I have been volunteering in a language cafe in Korea and have noticed the differences first-hand. I personally like to teach adults more because they choose to learn the language themselves and they have more motivation. In language i knew there were different levels, but againm i did not realise ther were so many. This was very helpful information to me since most language bars or schools i have been at only work with 'level 1, 2,3,..'. This made me understand more as how much they actually know. Overal this unit was pretty simple but in the end it had a lot more depth to it about teachers and learners.
