I have learned a lot from this course. Often we forget things that are simple and basic until we are get reminded by study, reading or advice. Reviewing the grammar (tenses, parts of speech, passive, phrasal verbs, etc.) and making an activity or two for each of those topic is the most challenging part of this course, because for one I have not really tried teaching Intermediate levels yet, so most of those I wrote were unproven activities. Another is, in japan (where I teach in a public Elementary School), they are rigid in their english educational system that no writing (Roman alphabet), reading, and grammar shall be taught in the class. The system only introduces english expressions of phrases, short dialogues, and a little vocabulary. The foundation is centralized more on listening, choral repetition and speaking (only the topic). So overall, while I answer my worksheets with diverse activities, I never practice them in the environment I am working because of the restrictions in the system. Classroom management topics have also given me a lot of ideas on what to expect in my classes (in the future) and how to deal with difficult situations when faced with those that were mentioned within the course. Personally, I gained a lot of extra knowledge. I do believe that the course had covered the most substantial topics one must learn before trying their hands on teaching. With the certificate ITTT will provide after completing this course, it will give my resume an extra mileage in my future job hunting.
