We feel we have gained a lot from this course. Of course from watching the DVD we have learned how not to teach a lesson but also how to build trust and keep the class engaged. We have learned how a teacher should act in classroom to be smiley and confident, to speak at the right volume and also to be clear. We have learned how to give proper feedback without damaging a student?s confidence and giving them praise and encouragement. We also now know how to plan an effective lesson with engage, study and activate stages. We know what worksheets to plan out and what to write on the board and also what to do when it comes to our first class. When we move to China at the end of May we will be putting our first lessons into practice and this course has give us the right tools in order to build rapport, get them engaged, and to find out the different levels they are at. We have a better understanding of grammar also which will improve out teaching when we come to that stage. We have learned about different teaching methods and also different teaching aids to improve student?s intake of the information. We have even learned how to mark their work and how to give proper correction. We feel because of this course it will give us a brilliant and confident start to teaching and our new careers in another country.
