I learned many things about the english language that, as a native speaker, I have never been taught. I have been reeducated in grammar and tense and also learned about the dynamics of pronunciation which will be helpful in teaching and which I am currently using while I learn to speak various foreign languages. Becoming familiar with various teaching methods and getting a lot of practice making lesson plans and inventing activities will be immensely useful. I have now spent hours imagining classroom settings and exactly how I would teach and explain the various intricacies of my native language to a room full of confused foreign students. I have kept all of the lessons in a file and I will be using them for review for the next few years as I am a beginning teacher becoming more comfortable in the classroom. I will be taking advantage of all of the suggested materials, books, and websites as I plan classes.
