Having done this course, I find that I have gained confirmation on many of the things that I inherently and instinctively do during my lessons and in my lesson planning. It has provided me with confirmation that I am not wrong, but that instead many of the daily actions and methods that I employ in my classroom from lesson planning and making/selection of materials to student discipline and seating arrangements as well as teaching methods are employed in other classrooms and supported by research and teachings of educational bodies. It has helped to make me a more confident teacher in the classroom and outside, rather than second guessing myself and feeling that I need to explain or justify the use of materials such as songs, videos and games to motivate students and create interest in the lessons.
