Growing up as a native english speaker has given me the greatest benefit of not only working internationally, but to teach as well. However, the many grammatical terms that were once taught in grade-school and University were nearly forgotten, would it not have been for the tefl certification, providing a sudden refresh of those terms, as well as the introduction to the many teaching skills that not only benefit the english classroom, but for teaching as a whole. In just a couple months, I plan to use the certificate to teach in South Korea for the next year (possibly longer). Although the inevitable first day of teaching will be a nervous one for me, the knowledge that was learned through the TEFL will easily become applicable; resulting in a gain of confidence that I feel would be absent without it. In conclusion, I feel that the course has successfully structured and covered some, if not all subjects, which were necessary to enter a classroom with confidence right from the start.
