Although a native speaker of english, I was educated in a time and place where grammar was not taught in its entirety, so it was both challenging and interesting to gain knowledge in this area. The decision to do this course was based on changing circumstances that involved me moving to another country where I was unsure what my employment prospects would be like. Although qualified to teach here with the credentials that I have, I wanted to educate myself before making the decision to teach. In that sense it has been a valuable experience. In fact, I have already been offered a job teaching at a extra curricular english lessons for a private company on campus at university. Doing this course gave me the confidence and knowledge to plan and teach the demonstration lesson that led to the job offer. Since then I have found another job more closely related to my professional experience in the publishing industry, so I will be working there instead. I will be keeping the course as a reference tool in case I find myself in a situation where I will consider teaching english again. Doing this course has been a rewarding exercise and I am glad that I undertook it. It has given me lots of new knowledge and refreshed long neglected learning.
