Teacher self analysisSelf-analysis is more essential for a man because it is a process of self-examination for the purpose of instructional self-improvement. But a teacher must analyze about themselves day to day. The basic assumption in teacher self-analysis is that the teacher can function in an autonomous fashion in self-improvement activities. The teacher?s ability to function in a self-directed manner is contingent upon acquiring a series of self-help skills or strategies. The purpose of teacher self assessment is to enable the teacher to: ? Become aware of personal classroom teaching effectiveness. ? Learn how to control classroom in structural behaviors. ? Become self-directed in instructional improvement activities. While I was a student I had imagination about my teachers likewise the students also their own imagination about their present teachers. The imagination that I had was that the teacher should be very kind towards the student; the teacher must have a good rapport and interaction in the class. The class must be lively and entertaining, I don?t like to learn grammar because I thought that it is boring because of my school time teacher. And if the teacher doesn?t have all this qualities I used to bunk the class. But when I became a teacher I couldn?t tolerate the students bunking my class. If I don?t analyze about my self I can?t understand why they bunk the class. If I analyze about that problem I can solve it and I can improve my self in teaching the students. A good teacher must be a good learner because a good leaner can only know about the problem of them. In an ESL class the students come to learn the language not with interest but they are forced to learn. The esl students also find difficult to learn the language because that is a foreign language to them. As an esl teacher we have to analyze this entire problem and improve the confidence level of the student on the same time the students must be motivated to learn the language. When I started my carrier as a teacher straight away after my studies I was asked to handle beginner students in our country we call them as L.K.G students. One day I was teaching the L.K.G students all of a sudden a student ran outside of the class he was followed by a group. I couldn?t understand what was happening their then. After the class I just started to analyze why this happened. I found the problem that the students didn?t like my class and they ran outside towards park to play. From the next day I changed my approach for teaching young students. If we the teachers don?t analyze about ourselves then the students will have their own problems in learning the language. When esl students are taught we have to be careful about ourselves because they don?t have any idea about the language. The esl students they fully depend on the teachers to learn the language and if we make any problem then the students won?t learn the language any more. So we as the teachers of ESL have to self analyze about our classroom, teaching and adopt innovative methods to teach the students.
