This course has meant more to me than I could ever explain without writing a book of at least 50,000 words! Each lesson was very well presented, and I have gained not only a new perspective about my native language, but also, a strong fundamental understanding of complexities I either took for granted, or never knew existed. The techniques and methodology were invaluable. Further, I was presented with a cornucopia of concepts, tools, and resources. For me, successfully completing the course is just the beginning. I intend to review every lesson again and again, re-study my correct worksheets and lesson plans, and further digest the wealth of information contained therein. I see the wisdom of using a lesson plan for each and every class. I also see the value of preparing a self-evaluation form after each class, and attaching it to my lesson plan for later review by myself, and to share with a teacher who may have to fill in for me or take over my class permanently. Among the most important lessons contained in the course, was the repeated emphasis on positive conditioning, being a positive role model, encouraging, engaging, and praising the students at every victory, small or large, and never taking for granted that a teacher makes a lasting impression on his/her students for a lifetime. It is a sacred responsibility, and one that the teacher should always treat with the dignity it merits. I will be undertaking the Business and Youth certifications next. At the end of my training, I want to teach in china, where I have many beloved students and friends due to my activities on a language website as an english coach. Many of them have literally begged me to come, and they have all honored me, consistently, by telling me that I am an extraordinary, kind, and patient teacher. I hope, with all of my heart, to live up to their expectations. I couldn't have chosen a better way to begin than this course! One final acknowledgment: Peter, I can never thank you enough. You always knew when I needed a bit of encouragement ? never overdone ? and always as if you ?sensed? when I was really needing it. At that one, extreme crisis point, your generosity gave me fuel to carry on, despite my ?special? circumstances. It was a major inspiration, and was a major factor in my pushing myself to the limit, engaging fierce mental and physical discipline, and telling myself repeatedly, ?I WILL NOT FAIL!? I knew then, I couldn't give up, I couldn't disappoint myself, my students, and just as importantly, your belief in me. Yet, through it all, you gave me the dignity of requiring my very best efforts always ? always requiring that I attain the highest standard ?
