I decided to undertake a TEFL, to have some rules or standards to follow, as I was already teaching but on an intuitive basis. All along the process I kept teaching and the topics were very helpful. What I knew intuitively from a personal experience of learning english was confirmed, giving me more confidence as a teacher, not yet good but on the right way. Also, I was made to see aspects I didn?t see before. Like the different types of beginners, the difference between children, teenagers, and adults, the ESA structure. Before, I just conducted a somewhat chaotic lesson, without having a plan. Now, I make sure I follow the phases E.S.A, that helps me to organize the lesson. I am quite happy I took the step, and took the course, I feel like it was useful, and that I have something more that those who did not. Task 3 ? Write an independent research article of 500 to 700 words on a subject of your choice relating to TEFL. You can choose from one of the subjects on pages 7 to 10 of unit 20, or suggest a subject for yourself after checking it with your tutor.
