Firstly, I have learnt in this course much more than I actually expected to. Usually, in a regular schooling system, the teachers never taught, the english language with all of the grammar. Grammar was one of the areas that was never looked at as really important, but after I went through these units, I´m glad that I have gotten to know it better, feels like I really have learnt more than a lot of students, who have studied english as their first language. I realized that grammar is a difficult subject to learn and if one can understand the structure well enough, its easy to put a lot of writing, speaking or reading material together. Understanding grammar has changed the way I write and express myself in english. I am trying to put the knowledge that I have gained into practice, in my daily life as well. Teaching ideas, grammar, lessons plans, reported speech, active and passive voices are a little new to me, and have gathered a lot from these units. Explaining grammar to students learning english can be hard, but once knowing, I have the tools to explain complicated structures,is a great boost after doing this course. I found the tense units also pretty interesting. How to conduct a class and keep it going is what I really learnt well. Watching the 2 videos in unit 10 was also very helpful and one gets to see the difference between conducting good and boring classes and students reactions and enthusiasm. The TEFL course is designed very well for teachers and students, a clear combination of how, to combine different topics, and make it especially interesting for people who are learning english, who come from any kind of background native or non-native english speakers. Nevertheless, I would like to explore more of this field and improve my teaching skills, and more that , has to do with education and academics. I am definitely starting out as a new comer to teaching, but with one year of teaching experience with primary school children I would go on to learning how to teach adults and most certainly the countries I would like to concentrate on are the more under developed countries like Asia. This course has been a great learning experience and opened up many different aspects of not only teaching, but all esthetics that involve being a great teacher.
