How can teachers improve their confidenceWhether the teacher is a beginner in the classroom or an experienced teacher, having confidence in the classroom can be a big challenge. Teachers, who are unconfident, often find themselves panicking when the students don?t respond or listen to the instructions. But we often see many teachers that already have conquered the confidence problem and lead classes like a professional. For the teachers who are having difficulties having confidence in the classroom, there are many ways to improve the problem and provide quality education to students. To increase the confidence in the classroom, teachers need to have proper attire, prepare well and use strong and charismatic clear voice to lead the class. First of all, teachers need to have proper attire before entering the classroom. Why is it so important to have the proper attire? Wearing too formal clothes can have a negative effect in the classroom, because the students can be intimidated by the teacher?s formal clothes, the students may not be able to relate the teacher to them. As a result, the students may not pay enough attentions in the classroom. Because of students? lack of attentions, the teacher may lose confidence in her/him. So, wear clothes that students can relate to them in modest style. By doing so, students will pay closer attention in the classroom; therefore, the teacher will gain her/his confidence back. Second of all, teachers need to prepare well for the class. Having a well prepared lesson plan is a must for teachers to increase their confidence. Just by brain storming in the head or following the course book will not lead to a good lesson. We have to realize that students are the learners in the classroom, but at the same time they are the critics of the teacher as well. Most of students they know what would be the fun and well-prepared class, so having a well-prepared creative lesson can help teachers to regain back their confidence. Also, having a well-prepared and flexible lesson plan can help teachers to control the class effectively under any circumstances. Lastly, teachers need to use strong and charismatic clear voice to lead the lesson. Many times students judge their teacher based on the teacher?s voice. Also the teacher?s voice often shows the status of the teacher?s confidence. Teachers need to always remember that teachers are the one that leading the class, so in order to lead the class to the right direction, they need to give instructions in clear voice. Instead of mumbling, the teacher needs to open his/her mouth wider and give clear instruction. But one thing to keep in mind is that clear voice does not mean that you can talk to students in harsh manner.
