This course has provided me with the core knowledge to teach english to foreign learners. With regards to particular grammar points, I?ve learned how to better describe and explain constructions and purposes. It has tied titles, constructions and explanations for grammar that, as a native speaker, I know how to use but not how to teach. In addition, this course has also taught valuable information about types of students and types of teaching methodologies. I can agree that is important to know who your audience is and gear your teaching towards them, to maximize efficacy. Furthermore, I have gained insight into things that I had not particularly thought of such as how and when to correct and discipline students. This course has provided some invaluable tools such as the lesson plan, and other sites that list different activities and classroom ideas. I plan to practise what I have learned by using the tools provided, and frequently revising notes until I am more comfortable. I will make an effort to learn about my students. Not just their names, but interests and personal objectives (if they are able to identify them).
