I took this course not because I have plans to teach english but to equip myself with tools in case I am ever in the position to do so. With that said, I feel more prepared to teach an english class than I did before. If I find myself teaching one day, I?ll probably review many of these units to refresh my memory. I admit that when we first learned about ESA lesson plans, I thought it was a bit presumptuous to think that this is the best way to teach english lessons?surely there must be equally efficient ways to teach. However, after practicing the ESA lessons for most of this program, I have come to believe that the ESA lesson plan seems to make the most sense in regards to teaching the students, keeping them engaged, and monitoring their comprehension. I will probably also use the lesson plan or one similar to that, especially the first year or so that I am teaching. While I may not fill out everything, I do think it is valuable to think through the activities and the estimated times those will take, along with any anticipated problems. After the class is over, it would be beneficial to write down a few notes from the class of what worked well, what should be tweaked, and what should be avoided.
