At first I thought teaching would be an easy task but this course has definitely given me an insight on how wrong I was about that and how challenging and time consuming teaching is. I have learnt a lot from this course right from the first chapter all the way till the end. Starting off with what a teacher is and what his/her role is and now important his/her role is. This course also taught me how there are many different levels of english that students fall under, such as beginner, intermediate, advance and how you have to make sure that your lessons are based on their level and not make the whole class bored with either making the lessons too easy or make the lessons hard and confuse all the students. That?s another thing this course has taught me, how important it is to make a lesson plan and how there are so many different ways of making lesson plans, following the ESA format, engage, study and activate, even in that there are many different forms such as straight arrow lesson plan, patch work and boomerang lesson plan. Apart from that the course taught me a lot about grammar and sentence structures, such as positive sentence formation, negative sentence formation and question formation. The grammar part of the course also taught parts of the speech, various different tenses and different phrases. Another important thing I learnt in this course was how affective the structure of the classroom can be for the students and how one can use different mediums to teach the students and make the class and coursework more exciting and easy to learn. I can use what I?ve learnt from this course by using it to teach english to students who have different level of english. I do interact with a lot of people whose first language is not english and they all tend to have different levels of english. To communicate or even teach them you have to base your english communication to their level so they can understand and communicate with you. I would also make sure to cover the basic areas of the english language, such as writing, reading, listening and speaking to make sure to know where the students need more practice and based on that make lesson plans and teach the lessons.
