What I?ve personally gained from this course is a more in-depth knowledge of the english language and its various usages. english being my native tongue was not aware of the different variances. The tenses, intonation, stresses, phonemic alphabet and symbols modal phrasal verbs, passive voice and most of all the intricacies of conditional and reported speech are very important aspects of the english language specifically when the language is spoken correctly. Although certain aspects of the TEFL course were challenging they were not foreign. When a language is learned and taught, it becomes a way of life and to reverse that knowledge and habits takes some getting used to before it actually takes effect. The benefit of tefl certification training, you get to learn, conceptualize what you?ve learned and then interject that knowledge onto audiences of variation who?s eager to learn a new language. As an ESL teacher I get the opportunity to present it to them in its correct format. As an ESL volunteer, thus far I?ve utilized several tenses, modal phrasal verbs, stresses and passive voice techniques in my teaching methods to teach my students, all of which I?ve found to be effective. Having this training is an advantage the other instructors do not possess; because of that fact I provide valuable inputs (teaching mechanisms) that actually benefit the students and see them progress. In conclusion, this course has exceeded my expectations and the tools provided will equip me to take on greater challenges, in new arenas?abroad. I am overzealous to execute what I?ve learned to greater heights with optimism.
