Being a native english speaker I thought that this course would be a breeze, but after doing some of the grammar and trying to find my creative side I realized that I wasn?t being very realistic in my thoughts. I know that I have learned all of this stuff in school, but over the years it has just become part of the language and finding the different parts of a sentence is not an everyday thing. It is very nice to have had a refresher course in this stuff; I?m pretty sure if I were to go teach without having done this course I may get turned off teaching rather quickly. I have gained teaching skills from this course. I now know how to create my own lesson plan and how to explain things to students at various learning levels. This course has definitely opened my eyes as to how difficult and at times frustrating teaching can be, but more importantly how rewarding it will be seeing the students understanding and interest of what you as a teacher are teaching them. Hopefully I will be using what I have learned in this course in the fall as an english teacher in asia somewhere or perhaps Europe. Teaching overseas has been something that I have wanted to do for a long time, and I feel that this course has given me a better perspective on how teaching will actually be. I now know what I need to do to teach and have had a little bit of a refresher course; which I definitely think will prove to be very helpful. Overall the course was structured well and the quick responses were very helpful. I feel that this course will be very beneficial and has definitely boosted my confidence in my teaching skills and hopefully prepared me for my new adventure.
