By completing the TEFL course, I have managed to gain an insight into the world of teaching that I did not previously possess. I have learnt many parts of teaching including classroom management, producing lesson plans and tools and equipment needed in the classroom, along with many more. This is the first time I have completed a course as a student but learning from a teacher?s point of view. The materials I have learnt will become useful when I undertake teaching. The course has also given me confidence in dealing with students who may have any problems or may be unwilling to learn. Also, methods of motivating the students will be useful to take with me when teaching my own class. I have also improved my weak areas of english such as grammar and it has almost been like a ?refresher? course because I learnt a lot of the grammar when I was in primary school. I have also learnt new information when completing this course, one being phonetics. This will be useful when undertaking activities involving the dictionary with my students. Having a tutor throughout the course has also been an advantage because the feedback I have received will ensure I do not begin teaching student?s information that may not be accurate. Overall, the course has proved invaluable for my future and each unit will help me to teach others a new language.
