Although we are native english speakers, we have learned a great deal about english fundamentals, specifically regarding tenses. Units 5, 8, 16, and 18 gave us a swift and well structured overview of how to properly construct sentences of different types using proper verbs and participles. The lesson's simple definitions of sentence structures were particularly helpful and will certainly be used as refreshers in the future. Most critically however, we have learned a variety of teaching skills which can be implemented when teaching english to foreign learners. The sample activate teaching ideas (i.e. Narrative story telling in conjunction with past continuous and past perfect, and interview role-play) along with the ready-made lesson plans can be used in the classroom beginning the first week. Detective games, journals, portfolios, storytelling, telephone, and memory pairs are just a few of the many lesson ideas that the program has suggested and broken down so that classes taught may be as enjoyable and affective as possible.
