This unit covered some difficult situations that may arise in the classroom and how to potentially deal with them. Solutions for large classes include using worksheets, group work, choral repetition exercises and a keen focus on class dynamics. I learned that when dealing with students speaking their native language the issue is more often than not that they do not fully understand the directions.From this unit, I learned the variety of teaching aids available to the teacher, and the specific function of each. I was previously unaware of what a trusted tool the cassette recorder was, though I can't imagine that there are many in classrooms today. Also interesting to note was that DVD players are considered a good tool to hold the attention of students. This lesson has been very helpful.
