I learned the differences between authentic and created materials and what they bring to the lesson. I know that students will benefit from the use of all materials, but it is how and when you use them. There are advantages to each and disadvantages to each. As the teacher, you need to understand how to tweak to fit your classroom and the individual needs of the students, in order to be successful.The receptive skills are listening and reading because learners do not need to produce language to do these, they receive and understand it. These skills are sometimes known as passive skills. They can be contrasted with the productive or active skills of speaking and writing. Your lesson should be balanced between listening, reading and speaking, writing to create the best class for your students.
