Unit 11 is about teaching receptive skills.Receptive skills are reading and listening. We learn about how these are important for learning language and that people read and listen for different motives. It is wise for a teacher to teach on topics that are interesting to the students they are teaching. Topics schools also be varied based on what the students like. we look more at the straight Arrow ESA lesson plan as well. The more I learn about this teaching method the more I understand how important the engage stage is. If your topic is not engaging, it would be hard to keep students focused, open, and excited to learn what you are teaching. I also liked the example of the lesson shown in this unit
