This unit has shown me that receptive skills are very important for the improvement of students ability to understand and learn English by coming into contact with a varied array of sources. Moreover, I've learnt that it isn't easy to get the interest of the whole class as every student is interested in different topics but we can get the attention of many more students by using varied topics. By doing that the teacher should consider if the topic is something that the students will be interested in and willing to interact with. A careful selection of the text and creating interest before we start are great helpers to to manage students' willingness to absorb new information from the very beginning.
