Unit 16 Conditional and Reported speech tells us about different conditional patterns and changes that takes effect when reporting speech. In conditionals, there are five conditionals such as zero conditionals, first conditionals, second conditionals, third conditionals and mixed conditionals. They differentiate as to purpose, tenses and sentence patters. On the other hand, reporting speech focuses in changing the point of view of the speaker. Tenses will change as well as the pronoun who is spoken to. Conditional and reported speech are a challenging topic for teachers so it is better to give more examples and activities for the students in order for them to understand and use correctly the subject.
