Unit 10 gives a good over view of the process and methods involved in evaluating ESL students for a teacher. It differentiates between onging feedback and formal feedback. I t explains how getting students to do their own feedback can be useful because the classroom procedure will become clearer to them. It lists a number of ways to evaluate a students language level including tutorials, for individual students or in groups; evaluation by students; and tests. Different types of tests include placement, diagnostic, progress, achievement, practice and external tests. I have learnt a good overview of how tests are used and what they accomplish as well as how to apply them in and outside of the classroom.
