Unit 7 treats the aspects of Vocabulary, grammar and functions. It describes grammar as the tree trunk and branches a language, and vocabulary and functions as the leaves that add beauty and variety. It equally brings out the factors that determine hoe easy or difficult vocabulary may be, and the criteria used in selecting vocabulary, as well as what students need to know about a vocabulary item. In all it makes it clear that the ESA approach is best suited to tackle these aspects. What i have learnt from this unit is that,grammar and vocabulary are related and non can be used in isolation.I have also learnt that learners receptive vocabulary is always much more larger than the productive vocabulary.
