I learned about how to teach pronunciation and phonology in this section. I learned about the importance of teaching this since it helps students reflect feelings and personal reactions to different situations. I thought the section on stress was especially interesting because it shows how much the meaning of a sentence can change depending on what words we emphasize. Because i have taken a linguistics course in the past, the phonology section was a bit familiar. It was helpful to review how different sounds are made so that I can hopefully help model individuals sounds for students. I hope to incorporate pronunciation techniques into the classroom so that students also become more confident speakers.
