This unit provided information on how to manage classes. It elaborated on how to use your eyes, gestures and voice to control the proceedings in the classroom and went into detail about how to set up group work, explaining the benefits of individual group arrangements. How to arrange the seats in a classroom was also a topic as well as how the teacher should position herself in the classroom (seat/stand). Strategies and advice was given on how to reduce the time spent with the back to the class when writing on the board as well as when to expand or reduce Teacher Talking Time. There was information on how to give instructions in an effective manner, how to build rapport and how to maintain discipline.
