This unit breaks down present tense four main categories and then provides examples of their usage. The main aspects of the present tense are: present simple, present, continuous, present perfect, and present perfect continuous. While I knew these tenses, I now have several rules about usage I can implement in the classroom. For instance, I now have four main instances when present perfect is used: when talking about finished actions in definite time, past actions in unfinished period of time, something from that past that is still true now, and when past actions yield present results. I also appreciated how this unit peppered in examples of activities I could use to model these rules in the classroom.
