The fourth unit focuses on course materials. When describing course materials, we are referring to any aids used in the classroom such as worksheets, text books, videos, recordings, etc. There are two main types of materials: authentic and non-authentic. The latter of the two are materials designed specifically for the classroom, where as authentic materials are the complete opposite. This unit also looks at lesson planning and the importance of keeping an accurate record of what will be or was taught. Things to include in a lesson plan are the expected number of students, materials used, a clear ESA plan, the learner objectives and possibles problems for teachers and students with reasonable solutions.
