This unit explores the essential parts of speech and explains in which scenarios each are used. By the end of this unit I was able to take a sentence and identify each word in the sentence as a part of speech. I learned some of the exceptions to the rules as well, like irregular verbs, where the past simple and past participle do not end in ??ed?. There were also quite a few different rules of thumb that I discovered in this unit to help me in the future, such as the order for adjectives in a sentence. Ultimately, this unit helped me learn how to break down and construct a sentence using specific parts of speech, and that sometimes the English language does not always follow it?s rules.
