Although lesson planning styles will vary from teacher to teacher, this chapter has some great guidelines on how to create a lesson plan and keep a record of how the lesson went. I already use the methods outlined in this chapter in my own lesson planning and I usually include all the points that this chapter states should be included in a lesson plan. I find it especially important to keep timing in mind and plan for a bit longer than what is needed to allow room for students who are struggling to be able to complete each step successfully. I always have a list of additional activities that can be completed in the event that there are more than a few minutes of leftover time in any given part of the lesson.
