This unit was harder for me to grasp because I had never thought about the fact that there could be multiple forms of the conditional tense or that there could be a right or wrong way to report speech, because we do these things so naturally in every day conversation. It required me to re-remember the different verb tenses and apply them to the conditional, but it helped me to better understand where students will be coming from in learning it for the first time. Seeing the common student mistakes was helpful, as was reading the uses for each form of the conditional. I also liked the chart that showed what each verb form changed to when reporting it, because this will make it much easier to teach to students.
