Section two went over the fundamental parts of speech and basic grammatical rules. This section defined: nouns, verbs, pronouns, prepositions, adjectives, adverbs, gerunds, and articles. Furthermore, this section was able to break down each part of speech into more detail giving the reader an overall foundation for the basis of teaching elementary english concepts. By the end of the chapter, I felt confident in my ability to name most basic parts of speech, give several examples, and practice the basic rules associated with these parts of speech. While I may never be an expert on grammar, the chapter gave me confidence that as long as i am proficient in these concepts then I shouldn't lose my students respect.
