Teach English in Beitouying XiAng - Chengde Shi
This unit focused on classroom management. It addressed the teacher's physical presence, classroom seating arrangement and its impact on student to teacher and student to student interaction, student grouping while performing coursework, class participation in instruction, and to which functions the teacher must focus his/her talk. I would have liked to have more ideas on how to manage disruptive classroom behaviors, because these can derail any well-designed lesson plan. I worked with inner-city school adolescents in the past, and this is a challenging task. This unit lays a good foundation for that not to happen, but if the class contains a number of disorderly students, it will not correct the problem.
