In this unit, there are five different sections of teaching themes. The first being case studies, a case study is a process of research of something particular. This provides a whole range of language learning opportunities for the students. When doing a case study, it is important to go through steps. First by introducing the topic, and explaining to help them understand the purpose of the activity. Like in an ESA lesson, the teacher should pre-teach the language, this meaning miming, eliciting, using pictures, etc. Then arrange the groups and assign roles to each student in each group as this can give further teaching opportunities to the activities. Demonstrate the process of the activity, and make sure that the students completely understand everything. Not give the students a framework to use, explaining the main issues in the task, etc. Allow the students to get to work and don't interrupt. Once the assignment is complete, allow each group time to present their findings. Of course, for the end, praise the students as much as possible and work on a couple or errors. When frameworking, using the input, process, output concept can be very useful for Business English. Input meaning the starting point, Process relates to what is happening now and this is where we want to be in the future, and Output i what you end up with. Problem-based learning is very similar to case study, but in this methodology, the students work in groups to solve the problem. With problem-based learning, this allows the students to figure out what they think is the problem. There may be a chance that they are incorrect, but as long as they are working together to find an issue that they believe needs to be addressed and they are communicating in English as much as possible. Games are a great way to create activities, and it is possible to create a game with a purpose. Allowing the students to work and think in English as well as play a useful game can be quite beneficial. Almost any kind of game can be turned into something educational. Computer-Aided Language Learning (CALL) provides a lot of benefits for the students and the teacher. When using the internet, this can allow students to do some research on certain topics. They can find business articles to read, or read the newspaper, etc. It can also help the teacher with professional development. Speech Act Theory outlines four levels; Utterance, Propositional utterances, Illocutionary utterances, and Perlocutionary utterances. Utterance being the easiest is just saying a word or short phrase with no particular meaning, only involving the speaker. Propositional utterances is speaking to someone but doesn't have to mean anything, i.e. \"Look at those birds\". Illocutionary utterances is intended for communicating with a listener. This could be a question, statement, request, etc and the listener only briefly answers. Perlocutionary utterances is most normal conversations where the speaker and listener have a conversation that continue to lead to another speech act. With all these different themes and ideas, the teacher is then able to create a lesson plan that covers the topic and have the students engage.
