This unit covered the four past tenses used in English: past simple, past continuous, past prefect, and past perfect continuous. This unit was easy to understand after reading the previous unit on present tenses, as the formation is basically the same, substituting past forms for present forms. Once again, the section on usage of each past tense was very useful to read, especially past perfect continuous form. This form is difficult for me to explain, and it is interesting that it only has one use. It is also interesting that the unit remarked that it is not frequently taught and causes many mistakes due to the use of two auxiliary verbs, both in their past tense forms. I feel more able to explain past tenses now.
