This unit focused on different methods and tools to use when introducing and practicing vocabulary, grammar, and functions of the English language. When it comes to introducing new vocabulary I have learned that, especially with young learners, visuals can be very useful. Using pictures and gestures can give context and life to the words. Learning grammar can be boring for students, especially around the junior high and high school levels, but with role plays and communication activities it can be fun. The students have a chance to freely make the language their own and experiment with it. I also learned a lot from seeing the examples of vocabulary, grammar, and function lessons that can be taught in the classroom.
