In this unit, I was exposed to different methods and techniques of teaching. Using which type of technique in the classroom depends mainly on the level of English proficiency the students maintain. I also learned the ESA lessons and the three stages these lessons are comprised of (engage - study - activate) and was given different ideas and strategies to apply during each stage. In addition, I learned the different types of lessons that could be created with the aid of the ESA method (straight arrow, Bomerang, and Patchwork). Deciding on which type to use depends solely on the topic that will be discussed and again the language level of the students. Who, when, and how to correct mistakes was also discussed in this unit.
