This unit talks about teaching themes applicable to a range of contexts and situations. Some of the teaching themes dealt with are: Case Studies (which provides students with a whole range of language learning opportunities), Frameworking (a model involving three phases; input, process and output), Problem-based learning (a teaching methodology where the teacher becomes a facilitator), Games (an activity with a purpose, rules and element of fun. The purpose in this case is for activating communication), Computer-Aided Language Learning ?CALL? and the final theme is Speech Act Theory (a model showing the order of complexity of speech). The unit concludes by putting all these themes together to create a lesson plan.
